History of Shinyanga

Shinyanga Region is located in northern Tanzania, covering an area of approximately 50,781 square kilometers. Historically known as the "Granary of Tanzania," it is the heartland of the Sukuma and Nyamwezi people.

The region is famous for its traditional dances, such as the Bugobogobo, and its innovative land management practices known as Ngitili (traditional enclosure of fodder reserves).
